Rock Hill Build

Rock Hill Build owner Jake Young and his team offer much more than a deep and broad skill set to every home-building and home-improving project. They also bring their hearts, intuitions, creativity, and a rich connection with the natural systems that sustain life on our planet.

Personally skilled with carpentry, framing, tilework, flooring, drywall, painting, mosaic artistry and more, Jake hires skilled craftspeople and tradespeople on a per project basis to bring each project to life. With a promise of quality, dedication and durability, Jake and his team build the physical structures and also tune the relationships between the space and the surrounding natural systems.

Jake Young, Owner

Jake began learning his craft while growing up on a dairy farm in Gorham, Maine. Along with his grandpa, dad and five older brothers, he handled many of the repairs and building projects on the farm.

After leaving Maine to offer his chef skills in several US states he returned to Maine to continue cheffing and at the same time began building houses with one of his brothers. The homebuilding experiences sparked his interest in building and remodeling. He put down his chef knives and dove deeply into learning remodeling, followed by flooring, tiling and other skills.

Jake also began training to bring forth his natural intuitive abilities through energy medicine practices, and later deepened his inner work further through his self-education in yoga and mindfulness.

All of this skill gathering and inner work has lit the path to his focus on high performance home building. In 2018 Rock Hill was incorporated in the state of Maine and Jake is focusing on building sustainable homes while still servicing home improvement and remodeling clients.

Jake has been serving Maine for over 30 years. He is passionate about the evolution and revolution of the movement toward more sustainable homes in Maine and in our world.
